On November 15, the 1st day of China Shanghai International Children’s Book Fair, Dave Pilkey, a famous American children's literature writer, cartoonist, illustrator, and winner of Randolph Caldecott Medal, had a new book signing meeting with our students in the auditorium of SHSID primary section. This activity was jointly organized by SHSID primary section, SHSID Library and Scholastic.

Dog Man is latest creation of comic artist Dave Pilkey after Captain Underpants. Cute cartoon characters, wonderful and funny stories are loved by children. The kids who are fascinated by Dog Man will read stories to their cats and dogs at home. This brave dog not only brings joy to the children, but also touch elder readers with his courage and wisdom.

At the scene, Dave Pilkey and the students of primary school communicated face to face, sharing his personal experience and demonstrating the painting process of Dog Man and let students get to know more about the characters and works. The students wore the masks of Dog Man and played with Cosplayer. In the end, students waited one by one for the signatures and took photos with the author. Dave and his wife were also surprised to receive the special gifts which carefully prepared by SHSID.

Through this activity, students were deeply attracted by the background story of Dog Man. Moreover, the story of how Dave Pilkey overcome dyslexia and ADHD, greatly aroused their interest in reading and creation.

值上海童书展开幕之际11月15日上午，美国著名儿童文学作家、漫画家、插画家、凯迪克大奖获奖者戴夫•皮尔奇携其新作《神探狗狗》空降上海中学国际部小学段礼堂，开展了读者见面会暨新书签售会活动。本次活动由上海中学国际部小学段、国际部图书馆、学乐出版社联合策划举办。

《神探狗狗》是漫画艺术大师戴夫•皮尔奇继《内裤超人》后创作的又一力作。可爱的卡通人物，精彩爆笑的故事情节深受小朋友们的喜爱，迷上神探狗狗的孩子会给家里的猫和狗读书讲故事哦。这只勇敢的狗狗不仅给孩子们带去欢乐，它的勇气和智慧同样打动了大朋友们。

现场戴夫•皮尔奇和小学段的孩子们面对面的交流，分享自己个人经历之外还亲自演示神探狗狗的绘画过程。让孩子们更近距离了解人物和作品。小朋友们带着猫狗面具和工作人员办的Dog Man人偶愉快互动。活动最后，小朋友们怀着激动的心情有秩序地带着最喜欢的《神探狗狗》与作者签名留影。 作者戴夫及夫人也惊喜地收到了上中国际人员精心准备的特色礼物。

通过此次活动，小朋友们不仅被《神探狗狗》幕后故事深深吸引，而且通过了解作者如何克服儿时饱受注意缺陷多动障碍（ADHD）、读写困难与行为问题的经历，极大地激发了他们阅读和创作的兴趣。
