Also 常用于书写中 (亦即比较正式)，在讲话时比较不常用，它可以放在句中不同的位置。首先来看 also 意为「此外」的情况，此时它位在句首，其后须有逗点，是用来强调后面的句子或提供前一句的补充资料或提出新的论点或主题。例如：
